Nvidia has announced a landmark $500 billion investment to build advanced AI supercomputers entirely within the United States—marking one of the largest tech infrastructure projects in history.
The initiative aims to strengthen domestic AI capabilities and reduce dependency on overseas manufacturing, amid rising global trade tensions and increased demand for sovereign tech infrastructure.
The project will span over 1 million square feet of production space in Texas and is being developed in partnership with major Taiwanese manufacturers, Foxconn and Wistron. Full-scale operations are expected to begin within 12 to 15 months.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang emphasized the strategic importance of the move, stating that the initiative will “anchor the U.S. at the center of the next wave of AI development.” The company also projected that its data center revenue could hit $1 trillion by 2028, fueled by soaring demand for generative AI, autonomous systems, and large-scale computing solutions.
This ambitious project underscores Nvidia’s role not only as a chipmaker but also as a key player in building the physical infrastructure for the AI-driven future.
