Midea is voluntarily recalling approximately 1.7 million of its U and U+ Series window-mounted air conditioners due to a risk of mold growth that could pose serious health concerns for users. An additional 45,900 units sold in Canada are also affected.
⚠️ The Hazard
Water can collect inside the air conditioners without draining properly, creating a potential environment for mold growth. For some consumers, exposure to mold can lead to respiratory issues, allergic reactions, or other infections.
