Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) Demonstrates Advanced Capabilities

The RSNโs Formidable-class frigate, RSS Formidable, successfully conducted a live firing of the Aster 15 surface-to-air missile, intercepting a Banshee aerial target drone. This demonstration, held near Toulon, France, highlights the RSNโs advanced warfighting readiness and the effectiveness of its missile defence systems.
ST Engineering Unveils Cutting-Edge Maritime Technologies

ST Engineering has unveiled a new suite of Mine Countermeasure (MCM) Unmanned Systems for the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN), including Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs) and Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs). These systems will enhance the RSNโs ability to detect and neutralize underwater mines, strengthening Singapore’s maritime security capabilities.

The company also introduced a new Fast Interception Craft (FIC) designed for rapid-response operations, marking a significant step forward in addressing growing demands for agile, high-speed vessels in maritime security.
Non-Lethal Weapon Integration on Future RSN Vessels

Singapore has chosen Sitep Italia’s Multirole Acoustic Stabilised System (MASS) as the non-lethal weapon system for its future Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs) and Multi-Role Combat Vessels (MRCVs). The system, already deployed on RSN’s Sentinel-class vessels, enhances the Navyโs capacity to manage diverse maritime security situations without resorting to lethal force.
Strengthening International Cooperation and Naval Diplomacy

INS Kiltan from India and SLNS Samudura from Sri Lanka are among the international naval vessels participating in the exhibition, underscoring the importance of global collaboration in maritime security. These ships have docked in Singapore to engage in dialogues and showcase their capabilities.

Concurrently, the 9th International Maritime Security Conference (IMSC) is being held, with over 400 participants, including naval forces, coast guards, and maritime industry experts, engaging in discussions on the latest challenges and solutions in maritime security.
